Tax Manager

📍 Guildford | Full-Time | Personal & Corporate Tax

We’re recruiting for a Tax Manager to join a growing practice, managing a varied portfolio of personal and corporate clients (predominantly owner-managed businesses).

This is a well-rounded role combining compliance, advisory, and team leadership — ideal for someone looking to take ownership of their portfolio while developing others and contributing to business growth.

What You’ll Do

Client Portfolio & Compliance

• Manage a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients
• Deliver high-quality tax compliance and handle queries independently
• Process P11Ds, ERS, and ATED returns
• Review tax computations and compliance work

Advisory Work

• Provide advice across:
  • Inheritance tax & estate planning
  • Capital gains tax
  • R&D claims
• Support clients with a range of tax planning opportunities

Team Leadership & Management

• Lead and develop a team of tax professionals
• Review work, provide training, and manage workloads
• Ensure deadlines and quality standards are met

Projects & Business Development

• Manage your own and team’s projects and budgets
• Liaise with senior leadership on client matters
• Build and maintain strong client and HMRC relationships
• Support networking and business development activity

What We’re Looking For

• ATT qualified (CTA preferred)
• 4–5 years’ experience in tax within practice
• Strong personal tax and compliance experience (essential)
• Corporate tax and advisory experience (desirable)
• Up-to-date knowledge of UK tax legislation
• Strong communication skills with client-facing confidence
• Experience managing and developing a team
• Proficient in tax/accounting software (IRIS exposure beneficial)
• Organised with strong problem-solving and project management skills
