VAT Manager/Senior Manager

📍 Horsham or Chichester | Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home) | Full-Time | VAT Advisory

We’re recruiting for a VAT Manager or Senior Manager to join a well-established and growing VAT advisory team. This is a purely advisory role — ideal for someone who enjoys delivering high-level technical VAT advice rather than compliance-focused work.

You’ll work with a diverse client base across sectors including real estate, manufacturing, international trade, charities and not-for-profits, agriculture, finance, education, and local authorities. As part of a collaborative team, you’ll also support the strategic development of the VAT service line.

What You’ll Do

VAT Advisory

• Deliver high-quality VAT advisory services across a varied client portfolio

• Lead and contribute to complex VAT projects across sectors

• Provide clear, practical advice on technically complex matters

Client & Internal Relationships

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients

• Collaborate with colleagues across service lines to deliver joined-up advice

• Act as a trusted advisor internally and externally

Team Leadership

• Mentor and support junior team members

• Manage and develop a VAT Senior

• Contribute to technical development within the team

Business Development & Strategy

• Identify opportunities within existing client relationships

• Contribute to sector-focused growth plans

• Support business development initiatives and strategic expansion

What We’re Looking For

• Several years’ experience in VAT advisory (practice or relevant industry background)

• Strong technical VAT knowledge

• Ability to communicate complex VAT matters clearly and commercially

• Proactive and self-sufficient approach

• Experience mentoring or managing junior team members

• Commercial awareness and ability to identify growth opportunities

• Collaborative and confident communicator
