About the Role

📍 Brighton | Hybrid | Full-Time | Permanent

This is a rare leadership opportunity for an experienced Audit RI to step into a senior role with a clear pathway to Director and future equity ownership. You’ll initially act as back-up Responsible Individual (RI), with a structured progression to becoming the lead RI as part of a long-term succession plan.

Ideal for a senior auditor from a larger firm who wants greater influence, leadership responsibility, and long-term career security.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as back-up RI, supporting audit sign-off, quality, and regulatory compliance
  • Progress into full RI responsibility and audit leadership
  • Lead and review audit engagements in line with ISA (UK) and ethical standards
  • Oversee audit delivery, budgets, and deadlines
  • Build and maintain strong audit client relationships
  • Mentor and develop audit staff
  • Support the growth and future direction of the audit department
  • Drive improvements in systems, processes, and automation

What We’re Looking For

  • ACA / ACCA qualified
  • RI status (or close to achieving)
  • Strong audit background within practice, ideally a larger firm
  • Excellent technical knowledge and file review experience
  • Confident people manager and mentor
  • Strong organisation, communication, and judgement
  • Experience with Sage and Xero
  • High attention to detail and professional standards
