About the Role
Bookkeeper
📍Worthing | Full-Time | Accountancy Practice
We’re recruiting on behalf of a supportive and sociable independent accounting firm in Worthing that’s looking for a dynamic Bookkeeper to join their growing team. If you’re confident in cloud-based systems and love working directly with clients, this could be the ideal!
What You’ll Do
- Handle bookkeeping for a wide range of clients using Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and ClearBooks
- Assist clients with bookkeeping and software queries
- Prepare and submit VAT and CIS returns
- Complete bookkeeping to trial balance, including reconciliations, prepayments, and accruals
- Liaise with clients to ensure accurate, timely record-keeping and VAT submissions
- Prepare supporting schedules and reports as needed
- Ensure all client work is completed within relevant deadlines
- Contribute to high client satisfaction with excellent service
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in practice bookkeeping
- Ideally AAT qualified or currently studying
- Strong experience with Xero (and ideally IRIS)
- Confident using multiple cloud accounting platforms
- Excellent client communication skills
- Tech-savvy and forward-thinking mindset
- Highly organised and detail-oriented
