About the Role
📍 Guildford | Full-Time (Flexible Considered) | Hybrid/Office-Based
We’re recruiting for an experienced Outsourced Senior Manager to join a growing accountancy practice, supporting a portfolio of SMEs and owner-managed businesses with strategic financial leadership and commercial insight.
This is a senior, client-facing role where you’ll act as a trusted advisor, helping businesses improve performance, scale effectively, and make informed financial decisions.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Advisory & Client Leadership
- Provide strategic financial leadership to SMEs and owner-managed businesses
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and boards
- Attend regular client meetings to review performance and support growth
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and management accounts
- Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis
- Ensure accurate financial statements and statutory compliance (VAT, HMRC, etc.)
Risk & Process Improvement
- Identify financial risks and implement appropriate controls
- Drive improvements in systems, processes, and reporting
Collaboration & Team Development
- Work closely with audit, tax, and payroll teams to deliver a joined-up service
- Coach and mentor client finance teams or outsourced finance functions
- Support internal team development and performance
What We’re Looking For
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in an outsourcing role within practice
- Strong background working with UK SMEs across multiple sectors
- Commercially astute with the ability to influence business strategy
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong leadership experience in a results-driven environment
- Confident presenting to senior stakeholders
Desirable:
- Experience supporting scale-ups, growth businesses, or turnaround situations
- Exposure to fundraising, M&A, or exit planning
- Broad sector experience (e.g. professional services, tech, manufacturing)
