Compliance Accountant

📍 West Sussex | Full-Time | Accounts & Tax

We’re recruiting for a Compliance Accountant to join a busy and growing accounts team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to step up into a more senior role with increased client exposure, responsibility, and progression into management.

You’ll work across a varied client base, gaining exposure to accounts, tax, advisory, and wider services within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

What You’ll Do

Accounts & Tax

• Prepare year-end accounts for companies, LLPs, partnerships, and sole traders
• Prepare corporation tax computations, including R&D and Patent Box cases
• Support tax planning for owner-managed businesses (dividends, remuneration, benefits)

Management Accounts & Client Support

• Oversee client accounting systems
• Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts and VAT returns
• Advise clients on software and support implementation (e.g. Xero)

Client & Team Development

• Work directly with clients, building strong relationships
• Support and supervise junior team members
• Take on increasing responsibility for client billing and portfolio management

Broader Exposure

• Opportunity to get involved in audit, payroll, company secretarial, restructuring, and personal tax

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in accounts preparation within practice
• Ideally looking to taking the next step up
• Good understanding of corporation tax and general practice work
• Strong communication skills with client-facing confidence
• Organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Experience with software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, CCH, or IRIS (beneficial, not essential)
• Ambitious and keen to progress into a managerial role
