About the Role
📍 Hybrid / Office-Based | Full-Time | Accounts & Tax
We’re recruiting for an Accounts Semi Senior (internally referred to as a “Cadet”) to join a modern and forward-thinking practice.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone looking to build on their core accounts experience while supporting senior team members and mentoring juniors. You’ll be involved in accounts, VAT, bookkeeping, and tax — with clear progression into more senior positions.
What You’ll Do
Accounts & Tax
- Prepare year-end accounts and management accounts to draft
- Prepare VAT returns, including more complex cases
- Draft personal tax returns for review
Bookkeeping & Compliance
- Complete day-to-day bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Ensure all deadlines are met
Client Support
- Assist with client queries and ad hoc tasks
- Support and attend client meetings, taking notes where required
- Help maintain strong client relationships
Team Collaboration
- Support senior team members with workload
- Assist junior team members where needed
- Work collaboratively to keep workflows moving efficiently
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in accounts preparation within practice
- Exposure to VAT, bookkeeping, and management accounts
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Organised with the ability to manage deadlines
- Confident communicator with a proactive mindset
- Team player with a willingness to learn and develop
- Ambition to progress within practice
