Personal Tax Manager / Senior Manager

This opportunity combines the structure of a well-established tax team with the variety of advisory work that keeps the role interesting.

Alongside managing a diverse portfolio of personal tax clients, you'll work on bespoke tax planning projects, build long-term client relationships and play an active role in developing both the team and the wider tax service line.

Your Role

Joining a growing and ambitious tax team, you'll take responsibility for a varied portfolio of individuals and unincorporated businesses while supporting the continued growth of the department.

You'll oversee compliance, identify planning opportunities, deliver bespoke advisory work and become a trusted point of contact for your clients.

Beyond client work, you'll help develop junior team members, improve internal processes and contribute to the wider success of the tax team.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a varied portfolio of personal tax clients.
• Overseeing the compliance process from preparation through to submission.
• Reviewing complex personal tax returns and ensuring high technical standards.
• Identifying tax planning opportunities and delivering bespoke advisory work.
• Preparing tax planning reports and supporting ad-hoc advisory projects.
• Leading client meetings and building long-term relationships.
• Supporting business development by identifying opportunities within existing clients and assisting with new business.
• Mentoring and developing junior members of the tax team.
• Delivering internal technical training.
• Monitoring WIP, billing and debtor management across your portfolio.
• Working closely with colleagues across multiple service lines to deliver joined-up advice.

Who We're Looking For

You'll already have strong personal tax experience and enjoy working directly with clients.

You'll ideally have:

• CTA qualification (preferred).
• Strong technical knowledge across personal tax.
• Experience managing a varied portfolio of clients.
• Confidence identifying and delivering tax planning opportunities.
• Previous experience reviewing work and mentoring junior team members.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• A commercial mindset and genuine interest in developing client relationships.
